Brought up among the South London suburban soul scene in the early eighties, Gilles would avidly listen to listening to Level 42, Earth Wind & Fire, Central Line and the heavier, deeper pirate stations such as Radio Invicta. This inspired him to set up his own station - literally an aerial suspended between a tree and a phone box - playing an eclectic mix of jazz, funk, reggae, soul and early electro. This lone pirate radio station would over the years evolve into Gilles Peterson's Worldwide journey.

Stereo MC's have always led the pack when it comes to hip-hop dance pop and production value. The addictive beats, catchy grooves and memorable lyrics make it hard not to enjoy this U.K. superpower from the early days of rap. They continually succeed in combining the rap and hip-hop genre with eletro beats and funky dance rhythms never having much interest in lulling the listener with soft laid-back sounds. Their hard and fast attitude makes it hard to resist bobbing your head. Long hiatus aside, Stereo MC's have been making quality dance hip-hop for the masses for a long time, and they don't show any sign of letting up.

Tim Allister & Graham Ginty, AKA Funkasaurus, hail from Belfast, Northern Ireland and are currently building a fearsome reputation in the dance world. Hatched 3 years ago, Funkasaurus quickly became top predators within the local scene holding down dates at top venues around the region.

A residency at Str8 Up in the Basement Bar, Belfast was shortly followed by their own Funkasaurus night at the same venue to the delight of the regular club goers who were already aware of (and loving!) their unique sound.

They aren't called Funkasaurus for nothing... cheeky funk guitar riffs sit nicely over stomping basslines and waves of sexy synths.... breaks bombs and funky-as-hell house like it should be done!
